Comments on Dare by Charlie Fish
- Great read, drew me straight in. I never realised you were you had such a talent for writing. A man of many parts.
- Hey Charlie, Just finished reading Dare and I love it. I smiled as I recognised a lot of things from our time in Brum. I'm really impressed... this could make a great book. I'd love to see more of a development of Annie's character. Wonder where you got your inspiration from ;-)
- An excellent story, probably one of your best. In fact, with a bit of work, there is a novella in this, à la Stephen King... Julian Martin
- I read it in "one breath". It is so interesting, the plot very good and your writing excellent. Congratulations!
- It is an excellent story beautifully written, able to keep the reader's attention and adrenaline production! I read it in one breath and I was as exhausted as Will in the end... You are a remarkable writer and I know that one day you will give a lot of pleasure to many people with your stories.
- Author's comment: I'm quite proud of how this story turned out. I'm a little worried that it starts off too slow (comments to help me improve that would be appreciated), but once it gathers pace I think it is unstoppable. I wrote it over a period of about six months, which is probably far too long to be writing a short story, but for most of that time I was busy with my new soulless corporate job. A lot of what I did or saw during those six months ended up in the story, especially because the life situation of the characters is very similar to my own. I don't remember what inspired me, but I think it was something to do with watching the comedy film Old School.
