- I have to say I wonder when the protagonist will ever feel satisfied. Her father took her soul and no matter how many men she kills, her soul will still be empty. These men can't take what isn't there, it was stolen many years ago. I have the feeling that she will not stop at a fifth man, I can see her traveling towards the slippery slope of mass murderer and it is down that slope that she loses her chance for freedom. There are scars that cannot fixed but can be survived. I think that Maggie has clearly shown what happens to someone who has been wilted to nothing but anger and sorrow. Yet, at the same time, I have the urge to tell the character to get off her duff and take hold of herself and her life. I guess it is my hope for her salvation which seems to be lost forever. V.
