Comments on A Woolf in Vita's Clothing by Andrew Coburn
- I loved the story, but hated the ending. I thought the story was well written without a doubt. Very descriptive words made you feel as if you were right there with them, I liked that. I thought the conversations were even descriptive in their own way, I like that. I thought the story was leading itself to the destruction of one or both of them which it did. Along with that there was a foretelling of sorts when you could see the lightning in the distance setting up the scene where she gets struck by lightning. In fact, I thought the whole story was well written in that it was fore shadowing the ending of one thing or another. The main reason I didnt like the ending was I could not figure out why just her. Why would he just let her lie there if he loved her so much. Why lead her to the hill at all? I felt there was perhaps a cliff and they would jump together because they both had gone through a lot in their lives. To have her just be the one struck didnt make much sense to me, and then he drives off into the sunset. What did I miss? Overall, the story was well written, I kept interested throughout, and would read more of his/her stories.
