FICTION on the WEB short stories by Charlie Fish

All Of Us Alone
by Charles Sundt

All of us abide in isolation
All of us alone, and lonely too
Abandoned by our mind’s incarceration:
Different worlds in every point of view.
Carelessly we suffer one another
Carelessly we idolize and blame
A million minds in conflict with each other
Ignorant that every one’s the same.
We should hold our solitude resplendent
Solitude unites us – we are all
Accountable to no-one, independent:
Destiny is ours alone to call.
     Energy resides in isolation
     Bonded by degrees of separation.
