What will happen on the day?

The games will start at 12:30 sharp, so get there early if you can.

You'll play the six games you chose against different opponents. Believe it or not, it will take all day to get through them! But there are plenty of breaks for drinks and snacks (which are available to buy at the bar).

Just after 7:30pm, the scores will be added up, and there will be an awards ceremony.

Where is it? How do I get there?

The tournament will be held at the following address:

The Dogstar (top floor room)
389 Coldharbour Lane
Brixton
London
SW9 8LQ

The venue is four minutes' walk from Brixton Station, which is accessible by tube, train or bus. Turn right out of the tube station, turn right on Atlantic Road, and walk until you see the Dogstar on the junction with Coldharbour Lane.

Click here for a Google map showing the location of the venue.

Accessibility note: there are stairs up to the venue.

How does the scoring work?

Every game you win is usually worth five points, and points are distributed to the runners-up in such a way that the average number of points is always 3.5 (so if there are two players second place will get two points). At the end of the day, the points are all tallied up and whoever has the highest score is declared the King or Queen of Games.

The person with the highest score in each individual category also gets an honour.

In the event of a tie, the outcome is decided by Paper Scissors Stone (first to three points).

What's this about tactical voting?

When you're voting for which games you want to play on the day, consider whether you want to play games that you enjoy - or games that you are more likely to win. Either way is fine, it's up to you!

The winner of each individual category takes home a title and a medal. You need to play six games across four categories, so if you want a better chance of winning a particular category play as many games as possible in that category.
